I’ll be honest, this clip makes me want to sing and dance (possibly even in the rain). But a warning for married men: this little clip could potentially be a two minute kick in the crotch. I however agree with everything that is said in it and make no apologies.
So I’m the first to say it, I’m not married. I’m also not claiming to know everything about marriage. Who does? But I do know that there is something grossly wrong when the group of society identified as ‘the church’ has a higher divorce rate than the rest of society who doesn’t even claim the Christian faith.
This is an audio clip from a men’s breakfast event I went to at Gateway Church in Austin Texas. I actually thought I was going to a business networking group, but my information came from an unreliable source (my brother). I recorded it on my iPhone because by the fourth word out of this guys mouth I knew I was going to want to be able to hear it again.
You may not agree with it, this clip may piss you off if you are a guy. I’m more than sure any woman who hears this will be singing it’s praises for weeks to come; but as for me, this is putting voice to what has already been inside me for a long time.
Amen! Couldn’t agree more. These are hard truths for men to hear, but Jesus loved the church enough to bleed on a cross and challenged men to do the same for their wives. Death to self is the first step to having a great, God-glorifying marriage.
The first thing I tell guys in pre-marital counseling is “Today you need to make a decision… you can be right, or you can be married.” Laying down our right to be first and to always be right is necessary to reflect Christ in our marriage.
At any rate, you’re intitled to your two cents like us all – you being whoever commented, not the actual Devil as Hell is a place of eternal torment, so there’s probably no internet – but let’s not start the whole “I’m the Devil posting on a Christians blog hahah!” thing. I don’t wanna have to baby sit people and their comments, ‘Kay? =)

I strongly disagree.
